Director of Oxygen Alliance
Location: Preferred Countries - Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Senegal. Applications will be reviewed from any country.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Will report to the advisory board
- Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the plan of work as set forward by the advisory board members
- Will supervise all pillar leads to make sure they are making progress on their respective work plans and meeting their milestones
- Will track established key performance indicators
- Will prepare monthly updates for the advisory board
- Will review and approve all communications for external consumption
- Hire required staff members
- Manage the project budget
- Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders
- Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the oxygen alliance
- Developing an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement
- Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved
- Ensure Annual Conference planning and execution goes smoothly
- Ensure the website is up to date with activities being done and materials are being generated to share with others
Role Requirements
- Prior experience as a project manager, program administrator or a similar position
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Communications / Advocacy Lead
Location: Preferred Countries - Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Senegal. Applications will be reviewed from any country.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Will report to the Director
- Will focus on the government engagement pillar
- Work with the director and in-country partners to establish contact with each host country government
- Will schedule first visit to present the agenda
- Will negotiate a memorandum of understanding with the host country's government
- Will work with Research Lead to present the framework for the situational analysis
- Coordinate periodic virtual follow-up meetings for continuity
- Work with host country representatives to draft a policy brief
- Will engage with countries to present findings during Annual Conference

Role Requirements
- Understanding of accepted protocols for engaging at the government level
- Prior experience working within the government system
- Experience in engaging foreign governments in discussions/collaborations/negotiations
- Ability/willingness to travel

Local and Global NGOs Outreach Lead
Location: Preferred Countries - Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Senegal. Applications will be reviewed from any country.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Will report to the Director
- Will focus on the engaging agencies that fund equipment donations
- Will catalog funding agencies and establish point(s) of contact in each agency
- Will develop a profile for each funding agency of how much investment has gone into procurement of new equipment and how much has gone into equipment repair (this will be harmonized with information collected from each host country government where possible to establish a comprehensive picture - See responsibilities for Research Lead)
- Will determine if each agency has a policy regarding procurement of new equipment vs maintenance and if so what that policy is
- Participate in Bi-weekly EBC calls
- Will invite local and Global NGOs to attend Annual Conference and share policy changes
- Will update the content related to this pillar on the website and any other materials to share
- Coordinate strategy with other like-minded NGOs

- Will have experience working in or with an international agency

Manufacturer Lead

Duties and Responsibilities
- Will report to the Director
- Will develop communication strategy for engaging manufacturers on the importance of developing public training materials for their products (lack of information is a barrier to repairs)
- Will establish dialog with all manufacturers
- Will work with cooperative manufacturers to develop training materials and put on the Oxygen Alliance Website
- Will obtain manufacturer commitments for virtual workshops and eventually for the in person Annual Conference

Content Coordinator or Outreach Lead

Duties and Responsibilities
- Will report to the Director
- Will reach out to smaller OA members to engage with different content
- Will work to develop the app and other biomedical engineer/technician materials
- Will collate materials from other organizations to share on OA website
- Will periodically communicate/get information from different members to publish on blogs, website, and other social media channels
- Funding liaison
- Engage other interested/aligned NGOs
- Coordinate Work with Academic lead to ensure biomedical engineers/technicians in country have the tools to get certified
- Work to finalize attendees and program for Annual Conference

Academic Institutions Curriculum Development Lead
Location: Preferred Countries - Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Senegal. Applications will be reviewed from any country.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Will report to the Director
- Identify academic institutions in each host country that are providing training in biomedical engineering
- Establish contact with leadership from each institution
- Explain the objectives of this initiative to each
- Maintain a comprehensive catalog of academic curriculums for biomedical engineers across all academic institutions engaged
- Determine where elements of the curriculum are lacking in terms of emphasis on preventative maintenance (e.g. equipment inventory and maintenance scheduling) as well as supply chain management for spare parts for repairs
- Invite Academic institutions to present their curriculum at the Annual Conference
- Will update the content related to this pillar on the website and any other materials to share
Role Requirements
- Ideally a biomedical engineer with some teaching experience in academia
- Experience with curriculum development
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Research Lead, Technical Writer

Duties and Responsibilities
- Will report to the Director
- Will develop protocol templates for each host country to use/adapt for their situational analysis
- Will orientate the local team on how to do the situational analysis
- Will assist the team in writing up the findings
- Will assist in drafting the policy brief based on the findings
- Will develop a profile for each host country of how much investment has gone into procurement of new equipment and how much has gone into equipment repair (this will be harmonized with information collected from each funding agency where possible to establish a comprehensive picture - See responsibilities for Local and Global NGOs Outreach Lead).

- Experience with operational research / study design
- Evidence of writing skills

Oxygen Alliance Technicians
Location: Lilongwe, Malawi
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate and review the content for the multimedia library
- Answer questions related to oxygen concentrator repair and maintenance
- Provide support to field teams doing repairs and collecting data in country
Role Requirements
- Excellent computer literacy skills
- Strong presentation, public speaking, and writing skills
- Goal-driven, organized, and efficient in their work
- Ideally a biomedical engineer
- Experience in other oxygen equipment would be a plus
- Comfortable being recorded for video content
